The Overlook Presents: Expression in the Age of Trump
Saturday, March 11th - In House - 2pm
What does it mean to be a documentarian in today’s age? What role does the documentarian play in America’s political climate? As artists, photographers, journalists, and filmmakers how do we challenge the Trump administration's criticism of the media while learning how to navigate through this new era of politics? How are our artistic practices changing in the face of the Trump Era?
Join multimedia artist Jacob Yeung, documentary artist and creative director Chelsey Sinceŕray, documentary artist Colleen Plumb, and journalist Ritu Prasad in a discussion about documentary art and journalism coverage in a political climate where media and artistic expression is discouraged. This panel discussion will be moderated by the Overlook’s past artist-in-residence, Samantha Belden. This panel concludes Samantha Belden and Carly Hopp’s January/February residency at the Overlook.
