Submissions

The Overlook residencies are targeted toward self-motivated emerging artists across diverse artistic practices. Artists must be able to work both independently and collectively with collaboration being at the core of The Overlook’s mission. Multidisciplinary artists that are socially engaged and take risks are encouraged to apply as individual artists or as collaborative groups. The nature of this residency is to expose emerging artists to a studio practice and provide the opportunity for engagement with a broader audience.  Because each resident is expected to produce an end of residency exhibition, projects that are mid-to-end production tend to work best due to the time constraint, yet we are welcoming to new and exciting project proposals.

We support projects that are:

-Collaborative

-Socially engaged

-Challenging

-Inclusive

-Experimental

-Multidisciplinary

-Evolving

-Activist/Awareness based

To apply for consideration, please send a project proposal and paragraph about your current practice, along with your cv, bio, and work samples to theoverlookplace@gmail.com.
